30th September 2005 Windsurfing: Lake Bala Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 14-22 knts Surf / Sea State: flat - small chop Air Temperature: 15C Sea Temperature: 12C Weather: Overcast/rain Max Speed: Distance Covered: Went out to Bala for a quick session as it was forcast to be SW'ly. Arrived and found it was blowing about 16 knts so rigged up my 6.4m and Mistral Flow. Its been about a month since I last sailed in Holland so I started off a bit rusty which was disappointing as I thought I'd made some progress on holiday. Mainly well powered up but there were some lulls. Also at times I was maxed out on the 6.4m but overall it was a decent choice of sail size. Started off unable to make my gybes but later they started to come off and ended up better like on holiday so that was good. One other out sailing well, gybing helitacking and a few tricks thrown in. Good session, good fun and home in time for tea ;-) |
